History: As of May 2019, the Nice To Meet You Foundation, NTMY, has launched a partnership with Tuendelee, a Kenyan-based charity aimed at supporting tertiary education. The Foundation was started by Isabella Gaha Namodi, and, although it is still in a initial phase, the progress so far has been impressive to the point that, already in spring 2019, we were able to enroll the first cohort of students for that academic year.

Objective: Tuendelee’s aim is to create partnerships in education, by connecting:

• Students in need with potential donors to fund school expenses;
• Universities and colleges with needy students and potential funders;
• Employers with qualified students, aiming to give them opportunities of training and work.

The impact:

• The NTMY contributions financed the entire school fees for a degree in Finance and Accounting at the Strathmore University, University of Nairobi, and Kenyatta University in favour of 4 talented students;
• All 4 first beneficiaries have now completed their studies and are full-time employees;
• In addition, 5 new beneficiaries have been admitted to the programme since September 2023. They are progressing well in their education.
